Experience the authentic thrill of truffle hunting with dogs in the heart of Emilia. An expert truffle hunter will guide you, along with his inseparable Lagotto Romagnoli, through the secret paths of the Bosco della Panfilia and adjacent private reserves.
You will be accompanied, together with beautiful Lagotto dogs, through the secret paths of the Panfilia forest (Sant’Agostino – Ferrara) and/or in the adjacent forest in search of the magnificent White/Black Gold.
The expert truffle hunter will teach you, through an engaging introductory lesson, the history and search for truffles, dog training, the characteristics of existing white and black truffles and symbiotic plants.
Here are the specific harvest periods in Emilia-Romagna:
- White Truffle (Tuber Magnatum): October – January (until January 20-31).
- Black Truffle (Tuber Melanosporum): November 15 – March 15.
- Black Summer Truffle (Scorzone) (Tuber Aestivum): May – August/November (depending on the area).
- Black Uncinato Truffle (Tuber Uncinatum): October – January.
- White Truffle (Marzuolo) (Tuber Borchii): January – April.
During the summer months, truffle hunting begins at 8:00-8:30 in the morning and at 18:30 in the evening. During the winter months, it begins at 10:00 in the morning.
Truffle hunting duration: 1/1.5 hours
Lunch (12:30 pm) or dinner (8:00 pm) at Agriturismo Corte Roeli with a truffle tasting consisting of: appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert (drinks not included).
